Guest Hi,

how do you have some menus start in CLOSED mode so it needs to be clicked on to open. There was a link to this but it is no longer available Sorry to bother.

Yeah, I wrote it especially for e107styles, but then they closed down without much warning, and I did not have a copy of it anywhere.

I have quickly written a new guide, let me know if there is something that needs to be made clearer:

Guest Rich,

Ok so i got it to the point where is says - Click to Expand next to the proper Menu, but that menu still not coming across as closed.

Where exactly do i need to put this code?

echo "

<div onclick=\"expandit('exp_menu_1')\">
CLICK HERE
</div>

<div id='exp_menu_1' style='$expand_autohide'>
CONTENT
</div>

";
}

Here is what i have under Menustyle

function tablestyle($caption, $text)
{
global $expand_menu_counter;
$expand_menu_counter += 1;
$expand_autohide_list = array("Weather");

if (in_array($caption, $expand_autohide_list))
{
$expand_autohide = "display:none";
$caption .= " - Click To Expand";
}
else
{
$expand_autohide = "";
}

echo "
<div style='cursor:pointer' onclick=\"expandit('exp_menu_$expand_menu_counter')\">
<table cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'>
<tr>
<td class='top_left'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='14' height='25' alt='' class='ffimgfix' /></td>
<td class='top_middle' style='width:100%;white-space:nowrap'>".$caption."</td>
<td class='top_right'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='16' height='25' alt='' class='ffimgfix' /></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>

<div id='exp_menu_$expand_menu_counter'>
<table cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'>
<tr>
<td class='middle_left'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='8' height='10' alt='' /></td>
<td class='middle_middle' style='width:100%'>".$text."</td>
<td class='middle_right'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='10' height='10' alt='' /></td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>

<table cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'>
<tr>
<td class='bottom_left'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='14' height='14' alt='' class='ffimgfix' /></td>
<td class='bottom_middle' style='width:100%'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='10' height='14' alt='' class='ffimgfix' /></td>
<td class='bottom_right'><img src='".THEME."images/blank.gif' width='16' height='14' alt='' class='ffimgfix' /></td>
</tr>
</table>

";
}

Would you be able kindly point out for me what i am missing, please?

Thank you.

For a menu to be closed by default, you need to add its title/capture ( the text that appears at the top of the menu ) to the list.

At the moment, its only going to close a menu with the title of 'Weather'.

So say you want the chatbox close, you need

$expand_autohide_list = array("Chatbox");

Guest Right,

the problem is it is not showing my Weather as closed. Check it out - www.tarasula.com/home It does say "Click here to expand" but it shows it open anyhow.

Thank you.

Ah, you are missing the $expand_autohide bit

div id='exp_menu_$expand_menu_counter' style='$expand_autohide'
