Is there any way to overwrite the thumbnail images that Dallery Menu creates? The ones created are of extremely poor quality, even at 100% setting. I made a new image with exactly the same file name, but I cannot overwrite the original thumbnail, I cannot even change permissions on the file. Thanks! Love it otherwise!

After changing the quality in the Admin Area, did you click the "Delete Thumbnails" button ?

You have to click the delete button every time you make a change as dallery will not overwrite thumbnails that already exists.

As to you not being able overwrite or change permission, that means the owner is the webserver and you need to use something web-based to alter them. Again click the delete button, or log into cpanel and use the file manager there.

Yes, I deleted thumbnails after changing settings and uploading and overwriting via cPanel File Manager works great! Thanks a lot! I was just looking for an easier way to do this or if Dallery Menu could be improved to make better thumbnails. I have over 140 images on my site and was hoping not to have to redo each one individually as it would be very time consuming. Thanks again!

Glad you are sorted.

Dallery uses the GD library, so make sure you are using the latest version for the best quality thumbnails

I am using the latest version of Dallery Menu (1.7), are you saying that I need to check the version of GD Library i am using? Is that on my host or in e107? I am not sure where to check for that. Thanks.

OK, I talked with my host and they say that the version of GD library is the most stable with the rest of their software and they will leaving it as is for a while. They are running version 2.0.28, but they also asked me to ask you if you are using the imagecopyresized() or the imagecopyresampled() function in Dallery Menu. They say it should be imagecopyresampled() for highest quality.

It uses imagecopyresized, imagecopyresampled seems to be identical in usage, so do a rename in the index.php and try it out.

I just tried it out in the gallery plugin I am working on and agree that resampled is nicer, it creates thumbnails with a sort of soft blur.

I will make a note to add this to the next version of dallery
